Prior to joining Heller Consulting, I spent eight years working in fundraising at Massachusetts General Hospital, where I held multiple positions, most recently as Assistant Director of Development Services. During my tenure I helped initiate and implement several business process improvement projects, participated in a CRM implementation and was part of a team tasked with developing program area business plans for a $1.5 billion campaign.

Since joining Heller Consulting, I have worked with clients including Sutter Health Care Systems, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, the ASPCA, and The Evangelical Alliance Mission.

I hold a bachelor of science degree in Human Services from the University of Hartford, and I have received my Project Management Professional certification from the Project Management Institute. I am also certified in Convio Luminate Online, Luminate CRM, and TeamRaiser and am a Salesforce Certified Administrator.

Before joining Heller Consulting in June of 2012, I spent more than 3 years working in the Fundraising department and as the CRM Administrator at Green For All, a national nonprofit organization. After starting with the organization as a volunteer, I eventually joined their staff permanently to support all fundraising efforts and manage their Salesforce.com database.  In that role, I led multiple initiatives that expanded Green For All’s use of Salesforce, increasing the organization’s efficiency in development, operations, and outcome tracking and program measurement.

An experienced business process consultant, I now focuses on my role as a Certified Force.com Developer.  Using tools like Apex, Visualforce and JavaScript, I provide clients with customized solutions that address their complex business requirements, and ultimately help them achieve their missions more effectively through the use of technology.

I graduated from Carleton College in Northfield, MN and am a Salesforce Certified Administrator, Force.com Developer, Platform Developer I, and Platform Developer II.

I’ve had more than a decade of experience in the nonprofit sector, which has given me a broad base of knowledge in fundraising and operations.

Before I joined Heller Consulting, I worked at organizations including Hispanic Scholarship Fund, Golden Gate University, and Sinclair Community College where I had responsibility for the performance and maintenance of the alumni/development database and advancement systems. At the Hispanic Scholarship Fund, I managed an organization-wide conversion to Raiser’s Edge, a project that involved the integration of multiple departments and systems, along with extensive customizations to the system to meet the organization’s business needs.

In addition to my experience with nonprofits, fundraising, and operations, I’m also a certified Salesforce.com administrator.

Senior Consultant, Consulting Manager

Before joining the Heller Consulting team, I had more than 10 years of experience in the development field. I first began working as a tele-fundraiser while still a student at the University of Minnesota. I worked my way up, moving from data entry to managing Raiser’s Edge databases, and eventually acting as development operations manager for Allina Health Systems in Minneapolis. Working in this facility, I implemented unified business practices and coding systems across Allina’s twelve development departments and 10 fundraising databases, and worked with Heller consulting on a project to consolidate these databases into one system.

Joining the Heller team in 2008, I began working with clients including Ronald McDonald House Charities, McCormick Foundation, Midwest Eye-Banks, Lions Club International Foundation, and many others. In more recent years in my role as a project lead on larger, complex implementation projects, I have focused on coordinating Heller work, managing resources, and ensuring deliverables on projects with clients such as Mayo Clinic Health System, American Kidney Fund, and JDRF. Additionally, I work to manage a team of consultants similarly focused on our firm’s largest and most complex projects.

I find my work at Heller Consulting to be extremely rewarding: working with a great team to serve a variety of clients, identifying pain points, and working to collaboratively resolve these issues and deliver new technology solutions.

I am an entrepreneurial professional that is passionate about impacting the way nonprofit organizations do business by enabling evolution of ideas into action through an optimal mix of strategy, technology and creative thinking.

I began working with nonprofits in 1997 as an intern at the San Francisco chapter of the Anti-Defamation League. I also spent time as a Development Associate at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco, the nation’s second largest Jewish Community Center, and Stern Grove Festival, the nation’s oldest free outdoor music festival.

Over my 14 plus years at Heller Consulting I have had many roles. Like just about everyone else at Heller, I started as an Associate Consultant, and soon progressed to Senior Consultant, serving as lead consultant on the firm’s largest and most complex CRM engagements. In 2006, I became the first Director of Professional services at Heller, where I directed the firm’s business process and the technical services teams through participation in management planning, collaboration with other Consulting Services Managers, financial management and reporting, project and resource allocation, professional development of staff, ongoing services analysis, hiring and coordinating new consultant training, and supporting the sales team. In 2008 became VP of Professional Services responsible for developing and executing service lines growth strategy, driving resource optimization across multiple projects, managing utilization and profitability across service lines, and leveraging skill-sets to maximize efficiency and successful service delivery. In 2014, I produced a business plan for conversion services and led the formation of a new technology team whose primary purpose was the migration of data for CRM implementations. Creation and management of the Technology Team soon followed.

Since 2011 I have been the firm’s President, utilizing strong managerial, communication and leadership skills to direct all aspects of the firm’s operations, including services planning and delivery, finance, operations, and sales & marketing. I am responsible for the oversight of P&L management and budgeting, business partnerships and alliances, client relationship management, business development, process refinement and expanding array of services.

I came to Heller Consulting with more than seven years of nonprofit and fundraising operations experience. I got my start as support staff at organizations including the Houston Museum of Natural Science, The Children’s Museum of Houston and the Zonta International Foundation. At Zonta, I continued taking on roles of increasing responsibility moving from data entry to  managing the Raiser’s Edge as the Development Coordinator.

Since joining the firm I have worked with a variety of clients on Raiser’s Edge streamlining, implementation and merger projects, and Luminate CRM (formerly known as Common Ground) conversion and implementation projects. In my role as a project lead on larger implementation projects, I have focused on coordinating project work, managing resources and ensuring project deliverables are met with clients such as Michael J. Fox Foundation and Rainforest Alliance. Additionally, my work includes managing a team of consultants as well as variety of projects.

I enjoy sharing knowledge; implementing new procedures and helping clients find ways to streamline their operations. I hold a bachelor degree in Interpersonal Communications from the University of Houston, and I am a Salesforce Certified Administrator.

For the past 10 years, I have worked in development at a range of non-profit organizations in New York City. I developed expertise in institutional grant writing, while also playing a role in strategic planning, board development, direct mail, individual giving, and database management. Additionally, I have worked as an editor and writer for various publications, as well as in digital production for an e-book collection.

I hold dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Dance from the University of Maryland, College Park, a combination which led me to early positions at an arts consulting firm and various arts organizations. I spent six years performing professionally with a dance company in DC, and then continued training and working with various artists in New York City, while pursuing a career in fundraising. I’ve worked with non-profit organizations with missions in the areas of dance, theatre, arts education, the environment, disabilities, youth development, and human services.

Most recently, I was Development Manager at GallopNYC, a non-profit organization that provides therapeutic horseback riding to children and adults with disabilities. I first came to the organization as a volunteer, and I was quickly hooked by the unique way the program uses horses to inspire people with disabilities to grow and achieve greater independence.

During my four years at GallopNYC, I helped the organization ramp up its fundraising and also served as the Salesforce system administrator. I became increasingly interested in Salesforce because I could see how it was helping myself and my colleagues become more effective as non-profit managers and fundraisers. Using this skillset, I helped GallopNYC streamline its processes, develop better fundraising analysis tools, and improve its program evaluation.

My growing interest in the intersection of non-profits and technology led me to join Heller Consulting in March 2014, where I am excited to continue helping non-profits make a powerful impact on their communities. I am also a Salesforce Certified Administrator.

I have had the good fortune to work with more than a thousand nonprofits in my career, helping them make sound technology decisions to work more efficiently, raise more funds, and achieve their long term strategic goals. I started with one of the pioneering firms in this industry, Master Systems, which developed fundraising and fund accounting systems for very large nonprofits such as Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Stanford Children’s Hospital, and St. John’s University. That firm was ultimately acquired by Blackbaud, where I spent 17 years working with nonprofits and educational institutions of all sizes & shapes.

I am enlivened and fascinated by the work non-profits undertake, and make my first priority the all-important charge of learning each organization’s unique story, history, aspirations and challenges. My goal is to fully understand what you are trying to achieve, and, relying on the awesome team here at Heller Consulting, to design a service that gets you as close to that goal as possible. And there’s no harm in having a little fun along the way!

I have a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature from Ohio University.
