Are you a highly skilled and experienced Blackbaud Consultant who enjoys using technology to support nonprofit and higher education missions? Heller Consulting is looking for a candidate who will be responsible for augmenting client staff capacities with Raiser’s Edge and BBCRM experience and expertise and providing strategic recommendations to clients on the best use of Blackbaud products. The ideal candidate is a Solution Specialist with in-depth knowledge of Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and BBCRM and the functions each tool serves in solving complex business problems for nonprofit organizations. Significant consideration will be given to candidates who have the ability to enhance analytical insights from Blackbaud data using Microsoft Power BI and Microsoft Power Platform.

This is a remote job for a US-based company that allows employees to choose to work during business hours in their preferred continental North American time zone (EST, CST, MST, PST).

Approximately 20% of travel time is expected to support clients and/or to participate in sales, marketing, or company-wide activities.

Consultant Responsibilities

  • Act as a Project Lead on implementation projects for clients onboarding to either RE NXT or BBCRM.
  • Understand a client’s Blackbaud ecosystem, ensuring seamless integration and utilization of Blackbaud products.
  • Provide consultation to clients to understand their needs and make recommendations on the best use of Blackbaud products to achieve their goals.
  • Take high-level requirements and/or business needs and develop strategic approaches to meeting the client’s needs.
  • Analyze, understand and map client data from legacy systems to Blackbaud’s data schema as a part of implementations.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for clients to enhance their understanding and use of Blackbaud products.
  • Assist clients in troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Blackbaud products and their integration with Microsoft tools.
  • Extend the functionality of Blackbaud products by integrating them with Microsoft tools such as Power BI.Demonstrate flexibility and creativity within projects to ensure client requirements and priorities, as well as the project team’s needs, are consistently met.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement customized solutions for clients.
  • Produce user documentation for clients that clearly communicate processes and procedures.
  • Stay current on Blackbaud products and Microsoft tools to provide informed recommendations to clients.

Communication Responsibilities

  • Communicate clearly and appropriately with clients, routinely providing updates on status, options, and issues.
  • Recognize factors that will affect a project’s success and communicate escalations clearly to the Project Lead or Project Manager, as applicable per the project’s escalation path.
  • Communicate in a timely, clear, and effective manner with team members, ensuring all are informed of project status.
  • Quickly and efficiently communicate essential details such as progress toward milestones, next steps, and any emerging issues to the project lead or manager.

Project Management Responsibilities

  • Identify scope creep and report to the Project Manager and support communication of issues to clients.
  • Organize workload and adhere to project timelines to complete projects and stay on task, while being flexible enough to manage unanticipated elements of a project.
  • Track project budget hours proactively and independently, scaling work to fit within a specific project budget while maintaining flexibility and creativity to meet client priorities with the given resources, budget, and time.

  • Effectively manage conflict interpersonally (Heller team members, clients, managers) and within project constraints (budget, scope, timeline).
  • Problem-solve efficiently and effectively, escalating appropriately when a problem is not solved.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with Blackbaud products, including Raiser’s Edge, Financial Edge, Blackbaud CRM.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively consult and collaborate with clients and internal teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively yet independently in a remote environment.
