Salesforce rolled out the new Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking offering in mid-2023. It’s a feature-rich grants management solution that helps organizations manage, track, and deliver funding programs – making it easier and faster to get funding out to other nonprofits, communities, individuals, schools, and other organizations.

How does the Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking product relate to the new Nonprofit Cloud?

Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking is an add-on product available in the new Nonprofit Cloud, which Salesforce rolled out in Spring 2023. The new Nonprofit Cloud initially only included Program Management and Case Management. Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking is the second release in the new Nonprofit Cloud, with the next release expected to include Fundraising Management.

What can Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking do?

Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking is a robust solution for grantmaking. It can help organizations to:

• Simplify the application process
• Improve the grantee experience
• Track each stage of the grant process, including funds that have been requested or awarded, funding agreements, and disbursement schedules
• Report on outcomes after funds have been distributed

Because Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking is part of the new Nonprofit Cloud, it can be tied in with other functionality in the new Nonprofit Cloud, such as still-to-come Outcome Management, which will allow users to define desired outcomes associated with each program, define strategies in pursuit of those outcomes, and define and track indicators and time periods for measuring progress.

Who is Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking ideal for?

Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking is sophisticated grants management software that can handle the most complex grants management processes. It’s more robust and scalable than the free managed package, Outbound Funds, which is available through the Salesforce AppExchange, making Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking a strong option for organizations that have complicated grants management needs or that anticipate needing to scale up their grantmaking processes in the future.

Note that Nonprofit Cloud for Grantmaking is available for use only with the new Nonprofit Cloud, so it’s ideal for organizations that plan to adopt the new Nonprofit Cloud. It’s not the best option for organizations who are using (and plan to continue using) Salesforce NPSP and other managed packages for nonprofits.
