What is a successful CRM?

What is a successful CRM for a nonprofit?

How do you define a “successful CRM initiative”? What are the indicators that define it as “successful”? Is it successful if the organization meets their “go-live” release date with the new system? CRM Is More Than Technology

CRM Roadmap Webinar

A truly effective constituent relationship management (CRM) system is more than just the technology that drives it. Clearly, the technology is important and will have a large impact on the organization’s success, but just as important, and possibly more so, is the initial process of defining the organizational strategies and goals that the CRM will help deliver. Supporting a Strategy with Salesforce Cases

There is a wide variety of mission-supporting technology available for nonprofit organizations today. As organizations grow and enhance their systems, they are challenged with selecting the best technology to adopt. The key to making the right decision rests not in technology feature comparison, but in clearly defining the strategy and goals of the organization, and matching the technology to those goals and overall mission. It’s not always easy, but with a combination of input from leadership and department staff, it’s well worth the effort.

In this four-part series we’ll follow a purely fictitious nonprofit, Coalition Against Homelessness (CAH), to illustrate common situations we have faced with real organizations. We will travel with CAH through several phases as they utilize their existing Salesforce capability to build everything from an internal ticketing system to a high-volume inbound support center. Each post in the series will build upon concepts from the previous step, starting with the straight-forward functionality that exists within native Salesforce Cases, and ending with a look ahead at a full Service Cloud implementation.

Guidelines for Selecting Software Solutions in a Nonprofit: Part 1

Why Nonprofits Select Software

If you’ve been in a leadership role at a nonprofit for any length of time, there’s a good chance that you have been involved in discussions about selecting software solutions at some point. When Heller first started guiding nonprofits with technology strategy, there wasn’t very much discussion needed. The technology choices were scarce, or even worse, not even intended for nonprofits. Some were just products designed for commercial companies with a few similar fields and processes, forcing sacrifices and workarounds to achieve what a nonprofit wanted to do.

More about #16NTC >> We have also put together a detailed guide to introduce nonprofits to the concepts they will need to understand as the path of technology continues forward.
