Blackbaud today launched a long-awaited online pledge functionality in Raiser’s Edge NXT.

This feature allows donors to commit to larger gifts through scheduled payments directly on donation forms, making it easier to track and manage pledges.

With online pledge, donors can now promise larger gifts and automate payments based on their preferences. You can set an end-date to ensure pledges are completed by the end of a year or campaign.

How online pledge works in Raiser’s Edge NXT

Donors commit to a pledge amount and schedule payments automatically with credit or debit cards.
Customize donation forms to match your site’s look and feel, and enable pledges for targeted campaigns.

What development leaders should know

Our Raiser’s Edge experts are excited to see the new functionality and suggested that development leaders consider the following:

Set your pledge amounts at an ambitious level that’s appropriate for your specific audience. Finding the right pledge amount balance is a fine art.
Keep your pledge options simple but flexible (e.g., monthly or specific date payments).
Steward your pledge donors throughout the pledge period, not just after payments are complete.
