We serve clients around the country from our regionally based teams in San Francisco, Austin, Chicago, Boston, and New York. When not on-site, we have the flexibility to work remote from where we are comfortable.

Project Manager

Heller Consulting’s work within the non-profit sector combines technical expertise with hands-on understanding of nonprofit operations. Project Managers are a key component to a project’s success at Heller, ensuring that the stated project objectives are met, the project comes in on time and in budget, and that we deliver a high-quality solution. Project Managers are accountable for driving projects to success while delivering them on time and on budget.  Project Managers are responsible for obtaining client satisfaction, managing client expectations, effectively leading project teams, furthering the firm’s goals, improving our methodology.

This position requires sophisticated project management skills and the ability to handle a portfolio of projects. Because most of the work has a high level of client engagement, strong interpersonal and written communication skills as well as a genuine interest in helping people and nonprofits are very important. The ability to collaborate closely with peers and clients while building consensus is also critical for success in this position.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project life cycle for Salesforce implementations, Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) roadmap and strategy services, and other Heller service offerings
  • Provide strategic support and guidance on projects to the team and client
  • Develop project plans based on scoped business process and technical requirements.
  • Manage project scope delivery from inception to closure
  • Define, develop and actively manage implementation schedules and project budgets
  • Coordinate & manage Heller internal resources and occasional external subcontractors,
  • Mitigate project risk by utilizing proactive communication, budget analytics and by gaining trust from the client
  • Manage communications with client and project team
  • Manage project team & foster collaboration and effective team performance
  • Develop and maintain accurate and consistent project reporting for internal reporting standards and client reporting requirements
  • Actively participate in Heller Consulting’s knowledge base
  • Contribute to the refinement of existing services and development of new service lines at Heller Consulting

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 1 year project management experience
  • Previous experience with Salesforce as an end user, experience as a system administrator is a strong plus
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience managing projects with technical and cross functional/departmental components
  • Knowledge of cloud-based tools, techniques, systems and solutions
  • Experience managing implementations of Salesforce.com strongly preferred
  • Previous experience working with nonprofits, experience working in fundraising and program management is a plus
  • Exposure to and knowledge of Change Management practices and approaches

Senior Technical Consultant

Heller Consulting’s work within the non-profit sector combines technical expertise with hands-on understanding of non-profit operations. Our projects include highly technical Salesforce implementations involving custom Apex/Visualforce/JavaScript/Lightning component solutions, complex environment management and deployment, and custom API integrations. This position participates and leads in delivering the full breadth of these technical services. Success in this role requires a thorough knowledge of Salesforce and non-profit operations, as well as advanced knowledge and experience in the following technologies and processes:

  • Salesforce Apex, Visualforce, and JavaScript coding
  • Salesforce integrations using ETL tools such as Jitterbit and Informatica
  • Complex Salesforce environment management
  • Salesforce deployment processes and tools such as Gearset or ClickDeploy.io

A strong candidate will demonstrate the ability to work with organizations to define their needs and create technical solutions to meet them, the ability to ramp-up on complex projects quickly, good client communication skills, a genuine interest in helping people and non-profits, the ability to work well with non-technically savvy clients, and the ability to take a leadership role on our services team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead technical projects
  • Create and deliver custom technical solutions for clients using a subset of the technologies listed above
  • Gather client technical and configuration requirements for custom solutions
  • Analyze client’s current technical practices and make recommendations for improved effectiveness and efficiency
  • Facilitate decision making processes around technical solutions with clients and confidently deliver technical recommendations
  • Conduct testing sessions with clients for technical solutions
  • Deliver end-user training for technical solutions
  • Develop system and process documentation for technical solutions
  • Configure Salesforce solutions according to design specifications
  • Actively participate in Heller Consulting’s knowledge base
  • Contribute to the refinement of existing services and development of new service lines at Heller Consulting

Required Skills

  • General understanding of project management methodologies for technical projects
  • Expert knowledge of Salesforce (Classic and LEX)
  • Proficient in all aspects of Salesforce Administration and Configuration
  • Proficient in application of Apex, Visualforce, JavaScript and Lightning component solutions
  • Proficient in Salesforce integrations and ETL tools
  • Advanced understanding of relational databases
  • Nonprofit operations experience
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to learn new skills quickly and be flexible and willing to take on new job tasks as they arise
  • MS Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint
