Senior Strategy Consultant

Salary Range:
$110,000.00 To $130,000.00 Annually
*This role can be performed remotely from anywhere in the continental United States*  

Position Summary

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Consultant to join our Strategy Practice. This role is ideal for a strategic thinker with deep experience in the nonprofit or higher education sectors, who thrives in a collaborative consulting environment. You will lead and deliver high-impact projects that guide clients through change, technology selection, and strategic planning.

Key Responsibilities

Project Work

  • Lead and contribute to projects across the Strategy Practice and other practice areas as needed.
  • Deliver client-facing work including:
    • Requirements gathering
    • CRM, Digital Fundraising and other Solution research and fit-gap analysis
    • Operations Assessments
    • Change and implementation roadmap development
    • Process mapping and strategic recommendations
    • Change management planning and execution
  • Acting as a strategic/program lead across vendor implementations
  • Translate high-level business needs into actionable strategies and technology recommendations.
  • Manage multiple concurrent projects, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet client priorities and deadlines.
  • Navigate complex client environments, including organizational culture and stakeholder dynamics, to achieve project success.
  • Proactively communicate across internal teams and with clients to ensure alignment and progress.
  • Travel occasionally to client sites, maintaining Heller’s standards of professionalism and client service.

Leadership & Collaboration

  • Serve as a role model and mentor within project teams and internal initiatives.
    Take initiative in project planning, task delegation, and sequencing.
  • Represent Heller Consulting externally through writing, speaking engagements, and social media.
  • Collaborate with sales and other practices to support a seamless transition from strategy to implementation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 10 years of relevant consulting experience or 15 years in a leadership role within the nonprofit or higher education sectors.
  • Understanding of the technology market supporting either non-profit fundraising and programs or high-education advancement
  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic and technology-focused projects.
  • Strong experience in change management and solution selection.
  • Proven strategic thinking and planning capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work across concurrent projects.
  • Skilled in navigating complex interpersonal and organizational dynamics.
  • Comfortable representing the firm publicly and engaging with clients at all levels.

Preferred Attributes

  • Familiarity with nonprofit and higher education technology ecosystems.
  • Experience with CRM, fundraising, or student information systems.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and best practices in digital transformation and organizational change.
